Strathclyde Business Park

Having recently carried out some major redevelopment work, especially to the park entrance, HF developments wanted new entrance signage to make a real statement about the style and character of Strathclyde Business Park. The park has always been known for its feature landscaping and the new entrance signage was designed to integrate with and complement this. After discussion with HF developments and their Architects, Cooper Cromar, a specification of satin stainless steel letters, with integral LED halo lighting and external floodlighting was agreed.

The quality of the halo lighting was particularly important to HF Developments, especially the brightness and evenness. Prototypes with different types and spacings of LEDs, as well as the material for the diffuser at the rear, were viewed on site to enable a representative assessment to be made led to Visive LEDs being selected with dazzling results.

The 2 feature totem signs for Avondale House were an equally important part of the package. An ambitious design concept featuring 4metre long illuminated blades of 20mm thick blue Perspex Frost involved manufacturing of trial sections with different lighting methods until the optimum solution was reached – blue LED edge lighting.

Karene Hill of HF Developments said of the end result –

“Merson-ASG worked very closely with us to ensure the end result met our high expectations. We set them a tough task in terms of designing and developing these unique signs in a short timescale but they accommodated all our many design changes and still managed to have the entire package installed in time for our relaunch. We are delighted with our new entrance signs and they way they work in conjunction with the landscaping.”
