Merson-ASG worked with Laing O'Rourke after successfully winning the contract for the manufacture and installation the signage for Cannon Street Station in London.
The station is a Network Rail station and therefore all signage was manufactured and installed in line with the Network Rail signage standards.
The project was delivered over an extended time period as we worked alongside the main contractor in a phased delivery programme to fall in line with the construction of an office block above the station concourse. Merson also completed the manufacture and installation of the signage for the Cannon Street office block.
High-level directional signs are the key wayfinding products in the station all of which are 6 metres long and 1 metre deep. These large suspended signs are fitted to the main station beams using specially designed and fabricated stainless steel brackets. All brackets were specially designed to work with the fabric of the station soffits and to ensure that fire-stopping capabilities were not compromised.
At each entrance internally illuminated Network Rail logos were installed, suspended from a singular drop pole. Extensive engineering went into the design of the product in the interest of durability so that it would cope with the expected wind loadings.
Merson-ASG was pleased to continue its long-standing relationship with Network Rail on this project.
